During the monthly school board meeting on Tuesday, December 17th, three high school teams were acknowledged for their talent, hard work, and accolades from the 2019 sporting season.
The New Albany High School Cheer Squad placed first at the 2019 State Competition. New Albany won its title in the Varsity Coed Division! The competition featured 38 high school timeout teams competing for the first time, and 40 varsity cheerleading teams from around the State of Indiana. Congratulations to our 2019 Cheer State Champs!
The Floyd Central High School Cheer Squad placed second at the 2019 State Competition and was runner-up to New Albany High School. It is always quite the accomplishment when two schools within the same district place so closely together, and take home the two top placings! Congratulations!
Last, but certainly not least, the school board recognized the Floyd Central High School Boy’s Cross Country Team for their accomplishment of qualifying and competing at the state level.
