Parents Frequently Asked Questions
- Where do I pick up breakfast and lunch for my student?
Meals will be available at your child‘s school on the following dates.
Friday, Nov 20th: 3 Days of Meals
Tuesday, Dec 1st: 2 Days of Meals
Thursday, Dec 3rd: 3 Days of Meals
Tuesday, Dec 8th: 2 Days of Meals
Thursday, Dec 10th: 3 Days of Meals
Tuesday, Dec 15th: 2 Days of Meals
Thursday, Dec 17th: 3 Days of Meals
You will be asked to provide your child‘s name and student ID # at the time of pickup. Pick up Time: 10:30 am – Noon . Families are only allowed to visit 1 location.
- What if I have a student in 2 different schools?
You can simply pick up meals for both students at one school. The school must check records to confirm that the other child is enrolled in the district and eligible to participate. Families are only allowed to visit 1 location.
- What if my student has a sibling that is not enrolled in New Albany Floyd County Schools, can I get meals for that child?
Yes, but the child must be age 18 and under and the meals can only be picked up from the following USDA “Free Community Meals” approved school locations:
New Albany High School Floyd Central High School
- Do I need to make meal reservations?
No. Meals will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
- Do I have to pay for my student’s meals?
No. All of New Albany Floyd County Schools have been approved to provide their students with FREE Breakfast and Lunches through the end of the 2020/2021 school year.
- What if I cannot pick up my student’s meals?
Please reach out to your child’s school Principal and they may be able to connect you with an agency that can provide assistance.
- What if my child requires a special diet?
Please contact your school Food & Nutrition Manager to let them know that you will be participating in the E-Learning Meal Support program and that your child has a physician signed form on file identifying the medical need and details of the meal modifications. We will continue to the best of our ability to accommodate those needs. Communication with your Food & Nutrition Manager will be critical to ensure smooth service.
