2018 OPEN ENROLLMENT

Open Enrollment begins November 15, 2017 and will last through November 20, 2017.  Due to the lateness of Open Enrollment this year we will have a passive enrollment.  Passive enrollment means that if you do not need to enroll, make a change or make a demographic change, you do not need to do anything.  Whatever coverage and coverage levels you have today will be what you have for plan year 1/1/2018-12/31/2018.  Your current election(s) are listed below.  Eligibility has not changed.  If you have any questions please contact Deena Burks.  Again, if you do not need to make a change or are not interested in benefits, you do not have to do anything, your current elections* will be what you have for plan year 1/1/2018- 12/31/2018.  However, if you do need to enroll, make a change or update demographic information you can meet with an enrollment counselor.  To change an election amount to your Health Savings Account (H.SA) or Flexible Spending Account/Dependent Care Account (FSA/DCA) the form can be found online and submitted to Human Resources without having to meet with an enrollment counselor.

We will have enrollment counselors from Colonial Life to assist with your medical, dental, vision, life and ancillary enrollment on a limited basis in all buildings.  To sign up for a time to meet with a counselor, you will sign-up in the front office of your building.

Medical Information

Effective 1/1/2018, We will remain with Humana for group medical coverage. There was no plan cost increase however there has been an adjustment to the contribution strategy which will affect your per pay contribution.  Additionally, with the exception of the HDHP $2650; all plans will remain the same with no change in deductibles, coinsurance, or copays.  On the HDHP $2650, to be in compliance with federal guidelines, the individual deductible will increase to $2700 and the family deductible will increase to $5400.

As part of being a Humana member you also have access to several benefits as a result of that.  These benefits include but are not limited to Humana Vitality and EAP.  The document below explores those member value adds.

Health Savings Account (HSA) Information

A Health Savings Account is only available if you elect to have the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). The HSA gives you the ability to use pre-taxed deductions to save for healthcare costs including dental and vision. If you are enrolling in the HSA for the first time, in order to get the Corporation’s contribution or in order to contribute from your pay, you have to open an HSA at Mainsource Bank on Grant Line Rd.

 


Flexible Spending/Dependent Care Account (FSA/DCA) Information

We use Ameriflex as our Flexible Spending/Dependent Care Account administrator.

A FSA allows you to use pre-taxed dollars on healthcare costs including dental and vision.  With an FSA you elect an annual amount to be withheld from your pay.  That amount must be spent by the end of the grace period or that money is forfeited.  In most instances you will be able to use your FSA card supplied by Ameriflex.  However, if it is not able to be auto-substantiated you will have to supply receipts.

A limited FSA is for use if you have an HSA.  It can only be used for dental and vision expenses if you have an HSA.  If you are not contributing to an HSA but have a High Deductible Health Plan, you can have a full FSA and use it for medical, dental and vision.

A DCA allows you to use pre-taxed dollars on dependent day care costs.  With a DCA you elect an annual amount to be withheld from your pay.  That amount must be spent by the end of the grace period or that money is forfeited.  To get reimbursed on a DCA all receipts showing payment to a qualified childcare provider must be submitted.

403(B) Information

As a NAFCS employee you have the opportunity to contribute to a 403(B).  We use Edward Jones Financial Advisors with One America Investment lines.  Edward Jones Advisors will be doing one-on-one meetings to enroll you and/or make changes to your 403(B) program.  They will be in buildings starting in November.  See school Administrative Assistants for sign ups.  Any enrollments done in November will take effect on the first pay of December 2016.
