New Albany High School’s NJROTC program has brought home multiple awards for the 2019-2020 school year.


New Albany’s NJROTC was recognized as a Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors for 2019-2020. This honor of Distinguished Unit is only given to the top performing units in the area and nation. Units need to be in the top 20% of their area to be considered a Distinguished Unit. Academic Honors is provided to units that perform very high academically and provide mentorship and guidance for graduating seniors—to earn this units have to be in the top 10% of their area in the academic category. 

New Albany’s NJROTC ranked 2nd in the AREA out of 55 schools, from West Virginia all the way to Nebraska.


New Albany’s NJROTC was also named State Runner-Up for 2020. This marks the first time the Governor’s trophy has found its way to New Albany. The honor was earned by great success from all of the group’s teams: Academic, Physical Fitness, Rifle, and Drill.
