Floyd Central Announced as a Four Star School!

In a recent press release from the Indiana Department of Education, Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction, Glenda Ritz, announced Indiana’s Four Star Schools for 2013-2014.  In order to achieve this designation, a school must be in the top 25th percentile of schools in two ISTEP-based categories.  Additionally, a qualifying school must have earned an “A” in the state’s accountability system and be accredited by the Indiana Department of Education.  A total of 281 schools received the award throughout the state, including Floyd Central High School.

Superintendent Ritz recently congratulated the schools who earned an “A” letter grade.  “I am honored to name these schools as our Four Star Schools for this year,” said Ritz.  “Winning this award is a testament to the excellent work done by teachers, administrators, students and parents throughout the year.  On behalf of the entire Indiana Department of Education I send them my sincere congratulations.”

Congratulations Floyd Central!  We are proud of you! Keep up the great work
