NAFC Graduation Rates Continue to Rise

Graduation rates for both Floyd Central High School and New Albany High School have risen each year since 2009.

Substitute Bus Drivers Needed

New Albany Floyd County Schools are seeking substitute bus drivers. Drivers will be paid $18.16 per hour, for approximately four hours per day. Interested persons with a Class B CDL License with a Passenger and School Bus endorsement may contact Rick Cathcart or Danny Libs for more information at 812-542-4707. CDL training will be provided with a commitment to work.

Four Star Schools Announced

Floyd Central High School, Highland Hills Middle School, Floyds Knobs Elementary, Georgetown Elementary and Greenville Elementary were all named Four Star Schools for 2011-2012 by the Indiana Department of Education.

NAFC Teacher of the Year Announced

NAFC Schools announced its District Teacher of the Year Award recipient earlier this week at the annual Teacher of the Year Banquet. Mt. Tabor Elementary teacher Abbey Smith is the winner.

Middle School Facility Debt Refinanced Saving Over $4.2M in Interest

Refinancing of the debt on the middle school facilities will result in a total net interest savings of $4,206,000 or an average of $323,000 per year in future debt payments. Previous estimates had only been up to $4,000,000.

OVER NINETY PERCENT OF NAFCS STUDENTS PASSED IREAD-THREE!

The New Albany Floyd County School Corporation is very pleased to announce that 91% of NAFCS Grade Three students have received passing results on the IREAD-3 Spring 2013 test. In 2012, 87% of NAFCS Grade Three students received passing results.

NAFC Student Spring Art Shows Happening in April

Two NAFC student art shows are happening this month. The Elementary Art Show is on the upper level of the New Albany Floyd County Public Library April 1-30 during regular library hours 9 am-8:30 pm. The Secondary Art Show takes place at the Carnegie Center from April 12-27. Click the story link for more details on each show.

The New Albany Floyd County School Corporation is accepting pre-registration information from NEW students that will be attending our schools in 2013-14. This includes all kindergarten students as well as any NEW students (grades 1-12) that will be joining us. Please click on the link below (English or Spanish version) and complete the information. This will begin the pre-registration process. In late May you will receive a letter with instructions on how to complete the 2013-14 registration process for your student online.
