No Bed Bug Infestation Found In Any of Our Schools
Thursday November 14, 2013
Tags: Misc

Our school corporation recognizes that the Louisville metropolitan area, like other US metropolitan areas, has seen a significant increase of bed bugs found in homes, hotels and other locations were people are at rest for long periods of time.  We have developed bed bug procedures to help us consistently deal with the insects that might be brought into our schools.  It is uncommon for schools to have bed bug infestations.  To date we have not found a bed bug infestation in any of our schools.  We may have an occasional “Hitchhiker”.  These are bed bugs that travel on students or staff from infested areas outside our buildings. Hitchhikers can be found in any public place.  We encourage parents and staff to be aware of the signs of bedbugs in their homes.  Hitchhiking bed bugs can only be controlled at the source of the infestation.  Below are links to bed bug information that will be helpful.
