Communications - News and Features NAFCS Students Set Record Breaking Scores and Outpace State Tuesday July 10, 2012 posted by Diane Williamson
“From Dr. Bruce A. Hibbard, New Albany Floyd County Schools Superintendent: "The New Albany Floyd County Schools continues to be the best school district in southern Indiana. I am proud of our students and their accomplishments. These positive results continue to show the power of being a professional learning community. I am pleased to say that we are truly preparing the students of Floyd County for their future. Since 2009, NAFCS has doubled the percentage gains made by the State overall. The percentage of students passing the math portion of ISTEP+ reached 89 percent, a 21 percent gain from 2008-2009 school year. In numbers of students passing, that equates to approximately 840 more students passing in 2012 than in 2009. The percentage of students passing the English/Language Arts portion of ISTEP+ reached 82 percent, a 13 percent gain from 2008-2009. As an organization, we continue to improve on behalf of our school children and our community. Moving forward, the teachers and administrators of NAFCS will continue to be focused on learning, collaboration, and results. I am truly indebted to our staff for all of their efforts and focused work.”
