
Carol Atz, Director of Human Resources
Carol W. Atz, Director of Human Resources, began her professional career in the School Corporation as an elementary teacher at Slate Run School. Ten years later, she was appointed elementary principal at Fairmont School. After nine years in that assignment, she was appointed Director of Human Resources in 1988. Her duties include establishment and maintenance of personnel files for all employees, planning and directing program for selection and assignment of the best qualified teachers and other personnel, supervises the administration of employee benefit plans, coordinates Family and Medical Leave Act leaves, administer provisions of state and federal law, contracts and policy as they apply to personnel, coordinates Title II grant, works with the Assistant to the Superintendent for Administration and Operations on staffing, interpretation of employee contracts and handbooks and employee discipline.
A graduate of New Albany High School, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Indiana University Bloomington, a Master’s degree in elementary education from Indiana University Southeast and an Educational Specialist degree in School Administration from Indiana University Bloomington.
